Rhomylly Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 Last month my dad handed my mother divorce papers and walked out of the house with some of his clothes and bread-baking stuff (bowls, bread pans) and that's it. One of the many instruments he left behind is a nearly-new Moeck Flauto Rondo alto recorder. I believe it is made of maple wood. Since no one else in the family plays recorder, my mother wants to sell this. $225, shipping included.
catty Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Sounds like an opportunity to learn to play recorder?
Rhomylly Posted October 23, 2008 Author Posted October 23, 2008 I'm getting some of his other, older (and cheaper) recorders alto and, I think, soprano. I doubt I'll ever get good enough on recorder to merit a $200+ one.

I doubt I'll ever get good enough on recorder to merit a $200+ one. In fact the Rondo is Moeck's base range of wooden recorders. The kind of instrument you might move "up to" from a plastic one. They are not particularly expensive, in fact I would have thought that the $200 price tag is fairly close to the new price (I am in the UK and they retail here for about £140). Other Major recorder makers have instruments of similar quality at similar prices. That's not to say they aren't a perfectly good instrument; they are. If you are interested in playing the recorder at all, I suggest you try to hang on to it. Geoff
