Richardcarlin Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 Hello All: My article on the Fayre Four (www.concertina.com/carlin) inspired an email from the nephew of the group's leader, Peter Brown -- including a wonderful early photograph (he believes it to be the first taken of the group). You can view his memories on my blog site, http://richardsmusicandmore.blogspot.com/ I plan to add to the site more photos and concertina info -- also news about my new book on the history of Folkways Records (shameless plug -- sorry). I look foward to your comments--this means you, Stephen Chambers! Richard Carlin

I look foward to your comments--this means you, Stephen Chambers! Richard Carlin I have seen an archive clip of their performance and they were truly professional .From memory they used to,as part of their act, cross over hands and alternatively play their own and then their sisters concertina standing next to them.To top the bill at the London Palladium was as high an accolade as they could have got, which just shows how talented the group were No collection which includes the History of the English Concertina with archive recordings could miss out this famous group, playing the most famous of their repertoire "The Flight of the Bumblebee" and they are included in English International. Richard ,If you send me Peter Brown's address it would be nice to send a copy to him. Al
