Greg Jowaisas Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 (edited) The local fiddle shop called and asked me to recondition an anglo concertina they had taken in trade. It is a 32b C/G Lachenal #179899 with 6 fold gold stamped bellows. I have given it new pads, valves, button bushings, end bushings, key felt and new bellows papers and new chamois bellows seals. The bellows runs have new leather and I've "invisibly" patched the bellows which are now quite tight. The gold stamping is in good shape even along the bottom end runs. The metal ends had some verdigre which was removed. They show some evidence of light pitting; I don't find it too distracting. Buttons have been cleaned and new hand straps fitted. This instrument has good volume, responds reasonably well and is less shrill then some metal end Lachenals that I have encountered. The extra buttons are F/c# on the left and d/c#' on the right More pictures are available. Asking price is now $2800. Donation to cnet. upon sale of course. Sold! A happy Irish customer and a donation to concertina.net Edited September 12, 2008 by Greg Jowaisas
