Steve the beginner
How's this for infidelity? Turning over the squeezebox for an octopus! (Actually she's the other way around, this [now abandoned] skirling banshee was turned over for the squeezebox)
Animaterra
Oh My God ! A left handed accordion player. Not many of them around anymore. Well, actually, that must be a photo taken in the mirror! Although I am indeed a leftie, I have been playing the thing in the traditional manner. And I must confess, I'm having fun! Between my struggles with concertina and piano, this seems to draw on my strengths with each. I can just hear Alison getting down with some Zydeco, C'est bon ça! Peut-être plus tard, Mark! For now, it's mostly simple contra dance and morris melodies in s-l-o-w m-o. Laissez-les bon temps rouller!
Dave Rogers
Although I am indeed a leftie, I have been playing the thing in the traditional manner. I'm a leftie too, and although I play guitar and fiddle left-handed, it seems entirely natural to play concertina and melodeon right-handed. With all the instruments, it's my right hand that's actually fingering the notes of the melody most of the time. Does that make sense to any other lefties out there?
