Conserteen
Can anyone please tell me who the tutor was at last year's workshops in Feakle. I think her first name was Bernie, and she was such a good teacher I want to try and get more lessons with her.
Larryo
Hi Conserteen, I don't know who taught at Feakle, apart from Mary McNamara and I am wondering if there is some confusion over the festival. The O'Carolan takes place each year in Keadue County Roscommon. That being said, the only concertina player/teacher that I know of by the name Bernie is Bernie Geraghty and she is from the Mayo area. Amongst her many past pupils , the most well known would be Máiréad Hurley and Ernestine Healy. Being from Mayo, it is very likely she might have taught at Keadue. Is this of any help? My mistake - I meant to put Keadue but had just been trying to find the dates for Feakle this year! Bernie Geraghty it was - many thanks for your help.
