Stephen Chambers Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 ... the bushing boards are held in with rivets or tacks, not screws as I've seen before ... Wheatstone's didn't start to do that with the bushing boards until the mid 1930s, so the instrument was probably worked on by them in later years. Sounds like it should be a good one...
Pete Dunk Posted April 8, 2008 Author Posted April 8, 2008 I see the pictures are still up there. 'Tis a loverly old thing and I wish you joy of it. Eight folds and al fresco - now there's daring!
Chris Drinkwater Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Who's is this Al Fresco? An Italian duet player? Chris
Pete Dunk Posted April 9, 2008 Author Posted April 9, 2008 I remember Mike Stand, always falling over at the wrong moment.
JimLucas Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 I remember Mike Stand, always falling over at the wrong moment. Comes from trying to hold too many drinks, I suspect.
DerekR Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 I was just looking at that wonderous beast in admiration, and she-who-must-be-obeyed asked me why I wanted a "bigger one" She obviously does not understand the man's way of thinking at a statement like that!!
Pete Dunk Posted April 13, 2008 Author Posted April 13, 2008 Here we go again but this time it's a Lachenal. There should be a law against hanging a concertina up by it's strap!
PeterT Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 There should be a law against hanging a concertina up by it's strap! Maybe it should be a hanging offence! Perhaps that's a bit harsh; maybe confiscation for a first offence.
malcolm clapp Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Here we go again but this time it's a Lachenal. There should be a law against hanging a concertina up by it's strap! Know its knot; its a Latchenal. And a McCann. MC (inn spellin pedent moad)
