Chris Timson
Hi all This arrived in my email in tray from Dick Miles just now:- Now available, ''Song accompaniment for English Concertina'' by Dick Miles This is a follow up volume to ''The Concise English Concertina '', going into further depth on song accompaniments, with examples of songs in different styles and information on harmony, chord substitution etc. Available from Dick Miles Cooragurteen Ballydehob Co. Cork EIRE price 18 euro , or £12 sterling inc. postage I know nothing more than this as yet, but I've known Dick since he got his first concertina (specifically for song accompaniment) about a quarter of a century ago, and his English tutor has a good name, so this has got a good pedigree. Aquarussell
I have neither of those. I must get them. Thanks for the heads up on this, accompaniment is one of the reasons I started learning to play the Concertina in the first place. Guest Toon
Anybody knows where I can buy Dick Miles' book? Thanks Toon
Ken_Coles
For those in the U.S. this book has been at the Button Box (see Links page or Sponsors page) for several weeks already. I just bought the tutor book, and part of my to do list (now about 60 items!!! Oh dear) for C.net is to add it to the Learning page.
Guest Toon
Aha, thanks for the fast response. For people living in Europe (like me, in Belgium) maybe it is better (and cheaper it seems) to contact the author directly? Does anyone knows he has a website or email address? Keep on squeezing! Toon
I just ordered it directly form Dick Miles. It's 20 euro per book. His answer to my question how to pay was: "I'm sorry I can't take Visa cards, I can take a cheque in euros,or cash in euros if you don't think it is a risk sending cash, or if you have a paypal account you can pay my partner cathycook@eircom.net, regards Dick Miles" I just got the acknowledgement that the paypal payment has arrived, the book is on its way to me!!! I'll let you guys know what I think of it! Toon
