I deliberately spent a relatively quiet evening in the country with a couple of friends... and a dog who is afraid of fireworks. We had a nice dinner, and "of course" watched Dinner for One on the TV (a Danish tradition), then "jumped" into the New Year. A bit of music, but we didn't bother with loud noises or strong drink. With the fireworks only in the distance and our close presence, the dog kept calm. A good, but not raucous, time was had by all and few, and in the morning we went for a walk on the beach. Now in more typical Danish fashion, with the New Year already begun, I'll wish everyone fortsæt godt år! (a continuing good year!)
