I think I've gone to put myself on a couple of times now, but I'm getting more and more reluctant to leave email addresses spread around and gave up at that point. Sorry Leo. Is that paranoid?

I think "paranoid" only applies if you think they are out to get you, but they're not.

If they really are out to get me, then does that make me not paranoid?

I am now down to 2 Email accounts because of that. I used to have 5. They are easy to set up for different purposes, and free. Yahoo, Google, etc. come to mind. My private one is for friends, and family, and there is a public one that I don't care what happens to it. When it gets to the point that the spam is too much, then I'll get another public one. Frappr is one of the better ones. The only email I got from that account is a confirmation of my password, and no other. Like here I think they protect it pretty good.

The administrator of the site is a member here too. I wonder if we could impose on him to put the totals back under the dot key, or it's a function of the site itself? It was a nice feature rather than trying to count red dots, and white dots.

Thanks

Leo

I'm more concerned about physical addresses. My left-side profile used to list my home town and state, but I backed it off to region only. SOmehow it doesn't seem wise to list your home town along with "I have three vintage Wheatstones" (don't worry, I do not).

Nobody on this group would want to swipe either of my boxes, but others might not be so selective ;)

Now that doesn't worry me. I don't believe in specialist concertina thieves watching and waiting to pounce. What I would be concerned about is the casual opportunist scumbag who takes it and sells it down the pub for a tenner (A tenner!!) and the chances of that are unaffected by someone here seeing I've an expensive concertina somewhere in Napier.

And for those of you that haven't put a locality at all. For heavens sake put SOMETHING in. It's helpful sometimes.

I don't believe that just because we haven't heard of any yet, there never will be any. It took the eBay fraud fishers a while to catch on to the fact that they could make money from concertinas, but eventually they -- at least a few of them -- did. How long can it be before some professional house burglar does the same?

And there certainly are specialist musical instrument thieves. If they're willing to steal banjos, why should they avoid concertinas?
