Stephen Mills Posted January 31, 2004 Posted January 31, 2004 I tried uploading a midi with a posting, but was told it was not a legal file type. The size was easily small enough. I saved it in .zip format to see if I could circumvent that. No error msg, but it also didn't upload. (This is judging from the preview alone; having been burned on the .mid, I didn't actually click on the post button.) So, what are the illegal formats, (or, if shorter, legal formats) for attachments to postings?
Ken_Coles Posted February 3, 2004 Posted February 3, 2004 I took a look behind the curtain, and all I see there is a list of allowed image types for posts (gif, jpeg, etc.). I'll ask Paul about this, as I don't know if it is entirely up to us what files are added, or if the software only deals with images. Has anyone loaded any other file type with a post?
Jim Wright Posted February 3, 2004 Posted February 3, 2004 Somewhere on this site I saw where TablEdit was software that you could use to convert standard notation to ABC. Thats how I was able to post my tune in the Tune-O-Tron.
Howard Mitchell Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 There is useful pair of programs, MID2txt and Txt2MID which do what it says on the can. They're used in the Mudcat Cafe You can learn all about them at - Midi Text regards Howard Mitchell
