Marcus Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 There's a distinct lack of Concertina enthusiasts on Myspace. Come and check it iut - maybe everyone here should sign up so we can get to know each other better!
asdormire Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 You know, I am surprised we are this cyber-active, as the concertina is the ultimate steam punk instrument. Alan
PeterT Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 I mean Facebook not Myspace! I was going to say, Marcus; I thought that there were quite a lot of us on MySpace. Regards, Peter.
Peter Brook Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 (edited) I am on Facebook (and MySpace). Same name and photo. Edited November 8, 2007 by Peter Brook
lildogturpy Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 Yep, I'm there (MySpace too) under Robin Beech
LDT Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 I mean Facebook not Myspace! You could always combine the too as Myface or SpaceBook ;P I was going to ask who here's on facebook?
Dave Rogers Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 (edited) I'm on FaceBook under my full name (David John Rogers). Discovering that there was a group on there for those with an interest in the SS Princess Alice (one of my great-great-grandfathers was a musician on board when it sank on the Thames in 1878) has prompted me to write a song about the disaster, in which nearly 700 (including my ancestor) lost their lives. It'll be on my SoundLantern page in the next day or so (sorry, no concertina on it!). Edited to include the link: http://www.soundlantern.com/UpdatedSoundPage.do?ToId=24177 Right, I'm off to find the FaceBook concertina group now! Edited December 11, 2008 by Dave Rogers

Dave Rogers Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 There's 6 David John Rogers's. lol! Dead common, me. I'm the one holding the carp (fishing being my other major interest).

Dave Rogers Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 But can you get a tune out of the carp? I can, but it's a bit crap... Just joined the "Concertinas are Cool" group!
bellowbelle Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Well.... I am on Facebook but it kinda drives me nuts. Nuttier. I go there just to say a quick 'hello' to a few peeps but I don't go for sending all those imaginary things on the computer and all that.... So, I prefer not to do much, there.

Torres Strait Anglo Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Umm, this...er.. facebook, do we have to 'fess up our other online ID's? Some of us get up to some pretty weird stuff on other sites under other names. Some of us..er.. may have aspects to our lives other than ..er.. concertina.... Separation of church & state 'n' all that.

It's just that if you don't use your real name on FaceBook, it makes it a little difficult for long-lost friends to find you. Actually, it might be better if they didn't find you, now I think about it...
LDT Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 according to facebook 28 May 2009 is the 2nd Annual International Hug a Musician Day
Jim Besser Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 I mean Facebook not Myspace! I am, as are most Morris dance musicians/dancers in my part of the world, all working on new ways to waste time
