Hi,

Does anyone have a list of the tunes that John Williams works his way through on his tutor? Is this now available on DVD? Has anyone any opinions on the merits etc ?

Thanks

On the video I think he plays the following (not sure if the DVD is the same):

Jimmy Ward's Jig, The Kesh, Bobby Casey's Jig and Last Night's Fun.

Nice DVD tutor - I wish there was a little more on the embellishments but watching John play Last Nights Fun is an awesome sight!

I have seen those tunes listed on the advertising alright. I was wondering did he do others or is that it !

That's it on the dvd, if you want a fair few more tunes have you tried Niall Vallely's cd rom tutor.

I'm working my way thru it at the moment , and finding it very good.

I was fortunate to see John Williams play last year at the Sebestapol Celtic Festival. I overheard him talkign to an audience member, and remember him saying he enjoyed teaching people to play, so maybe you might even be able to get lessons from the master himself.

I think he lives in Chicago, so you may have a bit of a commute unless you live there too. Can't even imagine what a 5 times world champion concertina player charges per lesson.

Thank you everybody. Unfortunately I can't seem to find a source for this DVD on this side of the world i.e. Ireland. It is available in America but the DVD will be in a format not suitable for European marketed DVD players. Thanks again

I got my copy off e-bay , and it plays fine on my £20 multi region dvd player.
