allan atlas Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 could well be an english. . . .and we know that Wheatstone and other manufacturers did a brisk trade with India. . . . .in fact, it might have been the India trade that led to the use of the metal cases into which the wooden cases fit. . . . .i remember one advert saying that the metal case helped fight humidity and bugs............the manufacturers even advertised the extra shipping charges for instruments going to India. . . . . .and recall the little pamphlet by Cawdell. . . . .where he writes about the military guys and their concertinas in India. . . . . .Allan
