Lachenal Models

I'm sorry if this has been discussed before but if it has I can't find it. Whilst there is a great deal of info available about Wheatstones there seems to be relatively little about the various models of Lachenel, the price list descriptions are of little help. So is this a pic of an Excelsior? Does anyone have pictures of other models (other than the obvious Edeophone)?

Hi

I think that the picture is of an 'Inimitable.' The Excelsior has ebony ends with a lot more decorative fretwork. You might want to have a look at the 'vintage concertinas' section on Wim Wakkers 'Concertina Connection' site, there are some Lachenals illustrated there. The Horniman museum has photos of the Wayne Collection ( bit small not the best angle tho')

This one is likely to be a Non Pareil (or Nompariel - sic - in an old Lachenal brochure I found on the WWW): post-757-1192100242_thumb.jpg.

The brochure says: AMBOYNA, all pertaining to exterior finish tastefully matched, tempered steel reeds as "The Excelsior," and all essential requisites of a truly genuine Instrument. Ca. 1895.
