Concertina And Type Of Muzic

I was just wondering what kind of concertina will be the best to play circassian muzic with it.

basically there are 3 forms of muzic:

1)

2)fast muzic(called sheshen)

3)slow muzic(called kafe)

(of course this are just samples and there are more songs from every kind of music but there form is the same).

 

so can you play this all 3 kindes of muzic on a concertina? and what concertina to use if so?

I would use a duet concertina because that's what I've got, but anglo would probably be just as good (might be limited in keys, though, if you want to replaicate the left-hand work). English concertina would be less likely, although I wouldn't be surprised if someone found a way to do it.

How's your Russian?

I always thought Cherkess used 1 row diatonic accordion, so the keys are not imperative. What may be more important is to have that wall of sound, only accordion can give. And 1 row is small and portable, easy to play. It was a surprize to find so many Youtube videos with Piano Accordions.

I think all concertina typs may be used, if you don't mind compromized volume.

What exactly are you going to do with it? Like accompanying singers, dancers, self-enjoyment, playing at parties, performing onstage?

I live in Israel so I don't have a real variety with the accordions but there are some stores here.

anyway, Concertina cost 1500$-2000$ or it is just the very good ones because i'm going to use them just for self-enjoyment. isn't there a Concertina that costes less then 250$?

It's a small Duet - left side plays low notes and right side - high notes, just like a Bandoneon or Accordion.

You can also look for Bandoneons, they can be aquired a bit cheaper, as here:

But a Concertina is expencive. Anything less than, say, $500 is complete junk, except for acclaimed Rochelle and Jack/Jackie.

$250 is Chinese made crap.

So I guess you are a likely candidate for "Rochelle", Anglo-Concertina, made in China, but to higher quality. $300 new.

As for which system, well, Anglo will limit you in keys, but probably not so much as it seems. And it can give you right hand meldoy and left hand accompaniment.

However, this morning I tried some simple Georgian tune on my English, and it works just fine.

So I'll let other folks to join and explain the differences between English and Anglo.
