susannah franks Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 (edited) Right, here are his other concertinas! This one is a professional 8 sided wheatstone aeola with 6 fold black leather bellows. It is in concert pitch and Circa 1920. It was rebuilt by H.Crabb & Son circa 1950 and the end frets were replaced with leight-weight alloy. It was serviced in 1986 by C & R Dipper. I would say it has a nice resonant and bright tone and quite a bit of volume to it. More photos can be posted if required. Asking price is £1400. I'd be interested to know what you all think of this one. Edited July 25, 2007 by susannah franks
Pete Dunk Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 For an Aeola the price is modest. It's a shame the original ends were replaced but it's nicely done, shame once again that the serial no. is missing but it's probably stamped inside somewhere. Geoffrey Crabb is a member here and may well have records of the rebuild. If I had the cash I'd buy this, no problem, but sadly I don't have the funds at the moment. I hope this lovely instrument finds a good home.
