Celtic Crossings
Hello all! Just writing with some Gearóid Ó hAllmhuráin news. Gearóid will be in Newfoundland late June giving the keynote lecture at the Canadian Conference of Irish Studies and in concert with Canada's own fiddle sensation Pierre Schryer and Scottish guitarist Ian Clark! Details on his tour calendar at: http://www.IrishTraditionalMusic.us He has also assembled an amazing group of concertina teachers for the 2007 July Catskills Irish Arts Week. Joining him will be Chris Droney, Micheál Ó Raghallaigh, Edel Fox, Michelle Mulcahy and Tim Collins. Can't get much better than that! Also, sign-ups are happening now for his August 11, 2007 concertina WORKSHOP in the SF Bay Area. Contact me directly for me information. He plays that evening with Cape Breton pianist Barbara MacDonald Magone at the Freight & Salvage - ALWAYS a great night! What a summer! We have a long overdue newsletter coming out this week and if any concertina.net members are not yet on this, we'd love to hear from you. Visit us at http://www.CelticCrossings.com or the tour calendar at: http://www.IrishTraditionalMusic.us. BEST NEWS: We can look forward to a landmark recording being released this fall by Celtic Crossings. Gearóid has partnered with Clare fiddle master Peter O'Loughlin to produce the first ever archive recording of music by legendary Clare concertina master Paddy Murphy, the pioneer of the modern concertina fingering style. I promise to give early release notice for concertina.net members Thank you! Cecilia Celtic Crossings
