Hi,

I know it must be me who isn't "searching" topics correctly but for the life in me I cannot use the "search" facility with any success.

For example I have been looking for topics on the g/d anglo but when I key in g/d I get zero returns. I can't believe that this topic has never been covered at least once.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanx,

Mike Delta

I don't think it's you. Somewhere back in memory I seem to recall that the search needs more than three characters to function. Thus "keys" will return posts and "key" will return nothing. I can't recall where I came up with that although I think it's a default of the search engine. I don't know if it has been changed with upgrades to the software either.

Thanks

Most forums' search capabilities are awful. You can specify the scope of a Google search to just one part of a website, though.

For instance, you would enter this into the search box:

inurl:concertina.net/forums "g/d"

(The quotes around the "g/d" search for that exact text, not "g" and "d" individually.)

You'll have to click on "repeat the search with the omitted results included" to get a healthy 5000 results.
