dunshire Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 Hello out there - has anyone had any experience trying to amplify an English concertina? Thanks, Dunshire
Dave Prebble Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 Hi, Have a look here for a good starting point http://www.hjcjones.freeserve.co.uk/music/...ertina/mike.htm This article is based on miking an Anglo but will include a great deal of relevance to any concertina. Regards Dave
Michael Reid Posted January 8, 2004 Posted January 8, 2004 For an off-the-shelf solution, you might consider a Microvox system. I've used one for dance gigs for several years and am happy with it. See their Web page: http://www.microvox.demon.co.uk/ Where are you? In the U.S., the Button Box stocks them. Microvox is in the U.K. and has several dealers there and on the continent, too. (See the list of dealers on the Web site.) They also sell directly.
Robin Madge Posted January 8, 2004 Posted January 8, 2004 One good thing a bout the Microvox system is that you can swap instruments easily as the microphones are held on with velcro. As an Anglo player I can change boxes to change key in about 15 seconds, or can change to whistle or even ( I confess) bodhran. Robin
