MitfordRI Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Does anyone know if the CCE allows late registrations? I only bought my Stagi from the Button Box* 3 weeks ago. (Am waiting for a Morse but needed something to play in the meantime.) I have been playing 1-3 hours every day but it's pretty obvious I need some lessons. I live in Rhode Island, just south of Providence. I found the name Ron Lister associated with The Blackstone River Theatre ... but don't see any concertina classes offered. Does anyone know of any group classes or private instructors in Rhode Island? *re: Button Box. Terrific shop. No one laughs at you (at least while you're standing there ). But I didn't get to meet Mr. Morse. Am beginning to think he is a made up person. It's Doug taking the mickey ... Mit

Me, I teach astronomy, for example. Even that is more lucrative than playing concertina. Well, Rich Morse has a day job (architect) to support his concertina shop and its staff! You'll spot him at many of the dances around the Connecticut Valley - seeing him now and then is one of the things I miss about living in Massachusetts (not to mention the great dances and jams!). Ken" Ken: I attended my first concertina class this morning at CCE. And loved it!! Although I badly mangled The Dogs Among the Bushes. I also met another concertina.net poster, which was pretty neat. Having read a few more back posts, it seems that proper etiquette here is to use one's actual name. So, I'm actually Lucy. But I've had the same email for 10+ years and am known by Mit in a few places. "Basher" in others. But that's another story. re: dayjobs. So. You're an astromer. How disappointed your parents must be. What, rocket science didn't appeal? Brain surgery was out that year? Lucy
