PeterT Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 I guess that I'm in the majority, when I come up with a "good idea", then find, of course, that it's common practice! So, how about this one? As Danny Chapman is very kindly adding YouTube concertina broadcasts to the Group which he has set up: http://youtube.com/group/concertina this means that those of us who learn "by ear", can play along to the recordings as if we are playing in a session. Beer is optional, but watch for splashes on the keyboard! Happy squeezing! Peter.
Leo Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 (edited) Peter Yes Danny has a nice collection growing every day. Hopefully it will complement the "Recorded Tunes Link Page", and not replace it. Both great resources. As a perenial beginner, I think my time would be better spent enjoying those that play better than me, buying the beer, and limit my playing with others for a while until I can come up to the skills that others enjoy second nature, either by years of practice or inborn talent. However as a learning tool I use this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/r2music/folk/sessions/ and find it a useful idea that I enjoy. Maybe someone else will too along the same idea. I'm not too good at multitasking (listening and playing at the same time); it confuses me. However I have learned how to walk and chew gum at the same time; (barely). Thanks Leo Edited January 17, 2007 by Leo
