Pwrfdr Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 I am going to be getting a Hohner Ariette 'starter' Cajun accordion, in the Key of C. What is the best approach to take for learning to play the instrument? I have a musical background, took music theory, etc. Are Dirk Powell's CDs good, or does anyone have a better idea? Any help is appreciated.
Ken_Coles Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Dirk's videos are certainly useful, as is Larry Miller's book (now with CD, I had a casette). That said, I really didn't figure it out until I got some lessons from experienced teachers. Augusta Cajun week (WV, in July) and Dewey Balfa week (LA, in April) are good for this, if you are in the U.S. Ken
