spindizzy Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 I would love to see this, but the link takes me to a web page with no video, I click "WebTV" and then what? Can anyone help? I get a popup blocked message on on the browser - firefox (a not very obvious message!) and when I enable the popup, it tells me that my operating system isn't supported (Linux - it will only do windoze or mac) .... so I'll have to try again from another PC. Chris

Boney Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 Well, I recorded myself playing (and I'm sure you're sick of it by now) Whistling Rufus, and uploaded it to YouTube. Here it is:
Daniel Hersh Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 Do we know who this is? I like his playing. Daniel Tina Roland Audio256K There are two more on this page. An equipment test. Thanks Leo
David Barnert Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 Aloha Binghttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=il7Uisy7Cww I have always believed that fiddle and concertina make a great combination. This video certainly makes the case. I don't know who these guys are or what the music is, but they've certainly "got it."
Leo Posted April 22, 2007 Author Posted April 22, 2007 Do we know who this is? I like his playing. Yes Daniel, nice playing. I'm not good on faces since I don't get out much, but somewhere I think I recognise the name. Maybe he's a member here? Thanks Leo
Leo Posted April 23, 2007 Author Posted April 23, 2007 Concertina Simon Thoumire and Jim Sutherland I'll bet these two generate a smile or two of pleasure. Thanks Leo
m3838 Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 That Jim Sutherland guy? What a drum player he is! I think he is quite a master of that ancient looking Boom-boom thing. As for concertina playing, I can't even say anything.
Pete Dunk Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 I think he is quite a master of that ancient looking Boom-boom thing. That'll be a Bodhran then.
Paul Read Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Concertina Simon Thoumire and Jim Sutherland I'll bet these two generate a smile or two of pleasure. Thanks Leo But you can't play Irish on the English...................................

PeterT Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 Peter playing his TV star concertina. Prince of Denmark's Marchhttp://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...eoid=2023371096 Thought that it must have been flagged up, since the video has received a lot more "hits". Ian Munro was using the video facility on his camera for the first time, so not a bad effort. Unfortunately, he paused filming part way through and moved from "landscape" to "portrait". As a result, the last part had me defying gravity , so I decided against posting it! Regards, Peter.

I don't think the video change detracts from it at all. It's still a pleasure to watch and listen. From your experience is defying gravity similar to playing in a vacuum? PeterT Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 What do they say about working with children or animals? Not a concertina, but at least it is a keyboard! http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...eoid=2026953816
