michael stutesman Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 I would like to know from you english system players if playing an instrument with raised ends makes a big difference in how it plays versus an instrumnet with flat ends. Michael
Doug Anderson Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 I have a Wheatstone with raised ends and a Morse with flat ends. Until you mentioned it, I never thought about the difference. I don't find either one to be better/worse, faster/slower, more comfortable/less comfortable, or different in any other meaningful way except that the Morse is a LOT lighter and they don't sound the same.
Lemon Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 (edited) I would like to know from you english system players if playing an instrument with raised ends makes a big difference in how it plays versus an instrumnet with flat ends. Michael I have two Wheatstones with, and one without raised ends. To me, it makes no difference at all when playing. Edited December 22, 2006 by Lemon

Michael I have both and I don't notice any difference. Cheers Carol
michael stutesman Posted December 22, 2006 Author Posted December 22, 2006 Thankyou all for your feedback. I've never had a raised end concertina in my hands. In pictures it looks like the buttons would be higher with respect to your thumb and little finger which is why I thought it might play differently. Evidently this is not the case.
