A Squeezbox For Many Styles

Recommended Posts

...a lot of the the sharing here seems centered on equipment, history and so on.  There is also some good stuff on tunes and practicing, but not enough to fill what to me seems to be a emptiness.

I instigated the creation of a "Teaching & Learning" Forum here. If you don't find what you want there, why not ask? It's certainly acceptable to start a Topic with a question or a request.

Also, I hope you're familiar with the non-Forum sections of Concertina.net -- including Tune-O-Tron, Music, Links, and Learning, -- acessible from the main page (not the main Forums page).

Wouldn't we all be enriched by doing more with sound files?  It wouldn't have to be record or performance quality to share what we are all doing.

Some of us (I am not yet one) have already done this, providing links to where these files can be found. Unfortunately, I don't think there's a compilation of these links; they are scattered among numerous past posts. Nor do I think Concertina.net is a proper place to keep a database of sound files, a task which could require both massive amounts of storage space and significant maintenance effort.

Concertina.net is not a central storage location for all things concertina, nor a school; it can't be. It is a place where you can learn where to find such things, if they exist. You can even ask for someone to create something which doesn't yet exist; you might get it, though there's no guarantee.

I've been thinking about getting some sort of squeezebox for some time and am unsure what would be the best instrument for all the various things I do and want to play.

I've just started a new Topic in the Teaching & Learning Forum in response to this post. I do believe that "what instrument to learn?" fits under the heading of "learning", and I hope that if others -- e.g., different individuals with different personal backgrounds asking the same question -- follow my lead, it will become an easily accessible central place to find and compare recommendations.

I'm afraid someone is going to say that piano accordion is my only option.

Not me! :)
