I Need Some Advice.

Recommended Posts

If you want an inexpensive 3 row accordion.. I would recommend jumping up to the Hohner Panther....

Around $300... and infinitley better than the other Chinese made boxes..

A second recommendation to go to the Reyes Accordions discussion group

99% three row players

well i talked to my dad about playing and he turned out to be really supportive. Turns out 2 of his brothers play in Poland so he really wants me to learn. So now my spending limit has gone up to.. i'd say about $300. so anyone want to help me find a near 300 dollar one that would be a smart choice?

Has your dad read all these suggestions??

Keep him in the loop if he's on your side, and maybe both of you can decide

Thanks

Good job let us know how you make out, and maybe you'll make google #1. Oops forgot near where? maybe a nearby suggestion. Look on the left side of the page to see why. I live in PA USA; Stephen lives in Ireland, and the members of this net live between Australia go East all the way around the world to Japan. It's a big diverse population here to suggest a closer store, other than:

Good people to deal with, and I would trust their opinion. I have in the past and have not been disappointed.

Be sure to follow Jeff's and Stephen's suggestion. I'm unfamiliar with those instruments.

Go here and you'll see what I mean about worldwide.

In that case you should probably aim for the Hohner Panther as Jeff has suggested, but I doubt if you'll get one for as little as $300, unless you can find a used one. The typical discounted price seems to be around $380 (full price $500), though $330 + $20 shipping is sometimes available on eBay.

Well, at least the Portuguese call them "concertinas"! ;)

oh, i live out in Illinois in the USA. I'm guessing that a store or a tutor would be out in chicago, seeing as how Carpentersville is out in the middle of nowhere.

So nalzalk does punk and accordion mix well?

I'l keep an eye out on all the local thrift shops. and maybe il ask my dad to ask my uncles if they have any spares from poland!

You could type punk in the search box an probably find a couple; but does this satisfy in the mean time? Remember these/we are concertina fanatics.

well my friend are looking into metal for you. actually one my friend sending me a album of accordian player playing dead kennendy album fresh fruit rotting veg. but for punk you got couple of bands that you accordian, floggingy molly, dropkick murphy, munity, mischeif brew, pouges, guingol, bread and roses, and mutiny.

also it not punk but it they rock They Might Be Giant

i think you could mix it well with metal either accordian or concertina. if you look hard. you may find a younger player who can give you some lesson for what you want to play beacuse accordian player are in high demand for folkpunk. concertina are less popular for punk excepth when the accordian player pull out a concertina for one or two song.

if you play from your heart. there noting but pure joy that will come out of your finger tips.

peace out
