s2maur Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 (edited) Hey All, Thanks for taking a look see on this. It got alot of hits but only one Non-USA response. I will withdraw my offer to sell until after some more therapy. I will still post the pics sooner or later. Currently, I have two house contractors doing work after having a no show for the last 6 weeks. So, I have been busy trying to keep them busy and on task. My family has been out of the house for one full year now and are getting cranky and anxious to get moved back in. I don't think I'm going to buy another old house for historic preservation ever again. I love these old things but after the third one in twelve years I just don't have the stamina or patience. Best Wishes to All, Steve Good player. Nice action, full rich sounding reeds with a slight edge. Comfortable flow to the bellows. I acquired this in a trade. A Carroll for this Suttner. I originally bought this from a fellow c.net member back in early 2000. Just traded back for it about six months or so ago. I am experiencing numbing in the hands and arms after playing a few songs and find it hard to not only know if I am playing the right button let alone even feeling the buttons. This is due to a car accident as a passenger back in college and was told by the doctor then that the affects of the accident would catch up to me in later years. Well, here they are - those dreaded later years. Have accepted that I will be playing the harmonica as my main instrument from now on as I am not quite ready to accept the odds of a full recovery from surgery. This is a nicely built instrument and has been kept in the moderate climate controlled conditions of my house. Nothing sticks and has a very slight detune problem on the low C when to much pressure is applied from bellows on a double C stop. To be sold in the lower 48 states at the asking price (firm) of $5,250.00 USD. I will pay for packaging and shipping. Original ownership records come with it. Standard Jeffries tuning with RH accidental c#/c# d#/e flat. I will post some pics next week. This is a first come first serve sale. I will reply to all inquiries in the order rec'd and will allow for a 24 hour affirmative response before moving on to the next interested party. No bidding wars or counter offers accepted. Price is non-negotiable. e-mail: maurs2@gmail.com Edited June 24, 2006 by s2maur

John Sylte Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 (edited) S2maur, so sorry to hear about the numbness in your fingers... I have had some experience with this also. I am 31, a fiddler of 21 years, and last year I had a snowboardintg accident and ruptured my C6/7 disc, which gave me numbness in my left index finger. I had neck surgery to fix that, and it did. Then less than a year later I had another accident involving sheet metal and completely severed the flexor tendon and nerve in the same left index finger. I have had three surgeries to reconnect both nerve and tendon, and although the nerve was fixed and I have feeling again (after 4 months of completely discouraging deadness), I still cannot bend the tip of my finger, which makes it useless for fiddling. The good news is that a fourth surgery in October should fix this for me. In the meantime, I also became a harmonica player and have found it to be a great instrument all it's own, and a worthy substitute for the fiddle. I think that despite my accident and condition, that I would be playing harmonica by choice. It has also helped me to understand more about music theory in general. So... I am dreadfully sorry to hear about your condition, but I encourage you to make the most of it, and DON'T GIVE UP ON MODERN MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY! I have paid over 20,000 US dollars to get function of my finger tip back again, and at this point, the prognosis looks good. By the way, I love your Suttner. I saw it on Ebay and wish I could afford it. Maybe after I get my hospital bills paid. Best of luck! Edited June 13, 2006 by John Sylte
David Levine Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 I saw it on Ebay and wish I could afford it. When was this instrument offered on Ebay?
Greg Jowaisas Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 I think John might be confusing it with the Suttner english which was on ebay and is for sale in this thread: http://www.concertina.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=3977 I have played the Suttner anglo that Steve has for sale and it is a very nice instrument. Greg
John Sylte Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Oops, I didn't realize this was an anglo. I just recognized the brand Suttner. My mistake...
