Blondgirl72 Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 Where would I look to find the age of a Paolo Soprani Piano accordion? It was a friend of a friend's -from his dad who is about 90- and it was HIS father's. I was led here through various links and I keep dead ending everywhere else! Are they worth keeping- or maybe there is a book somewhere that I could find this particular model? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Paolo Soprani was one of the earliest accordion makers in Italy, initially with button accordions and later piano accordions. While the name is still being used today, I don't think the current owners have much of a direct link with the earlier company, so an approach to them may not be fruitful. Perhaps not really within the scope of this group, but please pm me with a photo, or post a photo here, as I'm sure some one will be able to give you some advice. A number of accordion repairers and dealers frequent these pages! Might also be worth posting on rec.music.makers.squeezebox newsgroup, though photos are not permitted there and it would be difficult to give any idea of age without one. Good luck. MC
