Geraghty Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 I ran across this article today: The Concertina Trade in Victorian Times - http://www.d-and-d.com/contributions/tinas-jones2.html It focuses on George Jones. I have one of his instruments waiting for repair, a 26 button anglo. I'm curious, are there any databases of information about his instruments? I've seen similar ledgers for Wheatstone, and dating methods for Lachenal.. I haven't opened up my box to get the serial number yet, but as it says "2, Lucas Place, Commercial road East" on it (identified in the article as the address of the 'earliest Jones') I am wondering if any dating resources are available.
Robert Gaskins Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 I don't know of any rsimilar ecords of Jones instruments. Much of what is available about George Jones (half a dozen items) is gathered at Directory of George Jones in the Concertina Library (click to see that directory).
