waltheof Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 Does anybody know what this is? I've got one just like it. No identification marks, no serial numbers (some pencilled initials) but the construction with wooden levers is unlike any of the internal pictures I've seen on this site. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rosewood-20-Key-Conc...1QQcmdZViewItem Waltheof

As well as wood levers they typically use large zinc reedplates with 5 pairs of reed on each plate. Some may have more than one reed per note. Both build quality and playability are usually poor compared with English built instruments.
hielandman Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 That is a typical 19th-early 20th century german made anglo, pretty poor in construction compared to english made ones. I emailed the seller the other day, giving them a hard time for daring to compare that instrument with anything made by Wheatstone. They usually go on ebay anywhere from twenty five to seventy five dollars, depending on the condition, and how nice they look. That one is seriously over priced, and I doubt very much that it will sell. Take care, and good luck, Don
