'doctrine Of Signature?' Hmm...

Recommended Posts

I am struck by the similarity, and contrast, between these two creatures:

....But, exactly what this relationship indicates, I'm not sure.

:D

Doctrine of Signatures...Roughly, that a plant is a useful specific in treating the disorder which it most resembles, a classic example is the mandragora being used in all sorts of arcane Magick because of its resemblance to the human form.

Isn't "doctrine of signature" a homeopathic term? ....................

Yes....maybe my thought got lost a little in its journey to the keyboard, but....anyway...I guess the basic idea has come through!

It does make me wonder if the first concertina-maker had a secret desire to turn into a butterfly....hmmm.

Though, not all concertinas share the same colors as the woolly bear, as well as the push-pull aspect.

Or you could wrap the concertina in silk and leave it in a dark place all winter to see if it turns into a beautiful flying creature .... but then what would you play?

Funny...I do have a piece of raw silk draped over my accordion. But, that hasn't flown away, yet....

Well, if you see me flying over the trees with my concertina, you'll know I've morphed right along with it! :D
