Howard Mitchell Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Hi, I’m embarking on a renovation project. I’ve done this before but not for a few years. I previously bought parts, valves, pads and some reeds from Mark Lloyd-Adey but I believe he’s not currently contactable. A 62 button Jeffries Duet followed me home last weekend (I already have a smaller one). The previous owner designed his own layout for the buttons and had “shuffled” the reeds. This also involved adding a few foreign reeds and some weighting of lower notes. There’s also some work to be done on a couple of the levers which have been modified along with one of the handles which has been shortened. Thankfully the bellows are in good condition. I can reposition most of the reeds but need a few extras to complete the job and it would benefit from new pads and valves at the same time. Can anyone recommend a source for these parts. Thanks, Mitch 1
Peter Smith Posted April 16 Posted April 16 I can recommend C A Cornish for valves & pads (https://www.cacornish.co.uk/musical-instruments/). They are quite quick to respond and are able to make pads & valves to suit your requirements. C A Cornish sent me some samples before I placed an order. Peter
