Alan Day Posted March 29 Posted March 29 (edited) I have just been listening to the playing of Tom Lawrence Anglo player of ITM. (7 tracks) Very impressed by his playing and chording. I wondered if any of you can give me some information on this player. Al Edited March 29 by Alan Day Typing my name.
Alan Day Posted March 29 Author Posted March 29 I have found a number of postings made by Tom Lawrence and I have sent him a message. Al
Alan Day Posted March 30 Author Posted March 30 I have sent him a private message. I wonder if he is still OK. A lovely player. Al
Matt Heumann Posted March 30 Posted March 30 A while back, Frank Edgley told me that he'd heard via the grapevine that Tom was no longer playing and dropped out of touch. I too enjoyed his playing and enthusiasm. It was great whenever Tom, Frank and I played together at NESI. He was a one-man promotional department for Frank's concertinas. 1
Alan Day Posted March 30 Author Posted March 30 Thanks Matt for the update. As Tom sent these to me for possible publication I am tempted to do just that ,as it would be a shame these recordings were not made available for players to hear. It may be enough to tempt Tom back playing. If He hears about these recordings and objects to their publication we can always remove them. Please remember we are not doing this for financial gain, it is just love of the instrument and what can be achieved. Al
Matt Heumann Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago (edited) Here's a wonderful review by Tom of the 2003 Northeast Squeeze-In in which I learned that he started on EC: ( I believe several of our cnet community are in the pictures) https://www.squeeze-in.org/s-i-03rev.html Edited 17 hours ago by Matt Heumann added text
