The Half gate came up  some six weeks  ago while just playing away at whatever tune memory would throw up . iI had a recollection of having  some tunes in Crotty's long ago, with guitar player  Jens Kommnick and his wife, Siobhan. I half remembered her as the same  Siobhán Kennedy who composed that tune.  . When I googled  to check if that  was correct (it was), I found Siobhán had sadly died the previous week, on January 31st. 

 

Two mile gate is a place just North of Killaloe, it's where you park the car if you want to summit Moylussa, which us a nice walk with great views of Lough Derg. I snaffled the tune from Maire ni Ghrada and Maeve Donnelly who played it at tail end of the Concertina  Cruinniu two years or so ago.
