The numbers on Lachenal Edeophone bellows?

What are those numbers for, on Edeophone bellows??? Mine says: 129662. Different from the serial number

on the Lachenal metal plate ID, which is 42931 (early 20th century?)

 

I am baffled...though  Edeophones have no baffles.

I think it is the registered design number.

129662 is the registered design number, and is often prefixed by the letters RD.

the same number appears on many instruments.

That's exactly what it is, entered on 27th July 1889.
