hjcjones Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Cohen Braitthwaite-KIlcoyne has some YouTube videos of Bach on Anglo. He also gives lessons, in person and online. Here's one of them You might also be interested in Adrian Brown's videos of Renaissance music, and he has published a book of his arrangements. https://www.youtube.com/@AdrianBrown-AngloConcertina 2 1
usurpator Posted March 13 Author Posted March 13 many thanks! oh my god he doesnt seem to move his bellows most of the time - how is that possible 🤩
hjcjones Posted March 13 Posted March 13 He has more than 30 buttons. These don't give you very many more notes than the standard 30 button but they do offer more options for "reversals", where the same note can be played in the other direction (on a different button). Using reversals means you don't have to change direction so much, and is another way to manage air supply without needing to use the air button. The 30 button has lots of reversals, but having more gives you more fingering options. Also, he's bloody good! 1
hjcjones Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Looking at it more closely, he is making a lot of bellows changes but they're very small. In part that's due to having a responsive instrument, but it's also due to control and economy of effort. Good technique, in other words. 1
usurpator Posted March 14 Author Posted March 14 it’s quite amazing - as a beginner I cant even imagine moving that little! and yes his instrument must be good! (he is a pro that is logical)
