Hello Everyone!  I am looking for a 30 key Anglo Concertina, I'd love to find a Morse Ceili, or similar range of instrument both quality and price.  I'm in NC and would prefer to purchase one inside the US to avoid import fees and taxes.  I don't have a strong preference for key layout.  I am open to different options, but really want to find a mid range instrument that plays easily and has a great tone.  Looks, wood type, metal ends, don't matter to me as much as playability and function.  I had the fortune of borrowing a nice instrument for two weeks and now I'm hooked!  Looking forward to finding a good fit so that I can keep playing :)

Maybe a Clare from the Irish Concertina Company?  ($2300 with VAT credit and tariff per one website.)

If you'd be interested in a Morse baritone CG Anglo, I'm planning on putting mine up for sale.  Excellent instrument, well cared for.  I'm in the Washington DC area, will be traveling thru NC in a couple of weeks.

Hi Jim!  I very well might be, can you give me a bit more info?  I'm not familiar with the baritone, do you know how it differs from the Ceili?  And the asking price?  Thank you very much for posting!   Edited to add:  I just looked it up online, it's an English style instrument, I'm looking for an Anglo, I do appreciate you asking, best wishes for finding a new owner, I'm sure you won't have any trouble, Morse are good instruments!

He said his is an Anglo, so it is a Morse ESB.  Thus, it is an Anglo C/G that is an octave lower that a typical one like the Ceili.

Good to know, I looked up that name and just found the English model.  I hadn't seen them available in an Anglo.

Hi Rachel - it is indeed an Anglo, the ESB model.

It looks just like the Ceili, just bigger.  Internally, it's the same - same riveted action, etc.  As others have noted, it's an octave lower than the standard Ceili CG.

This instrument is about 8 years old; I am the original owner.

It has had fairly light use - I bought it mostly for limited use in my concertina duo.

It's had only one problem over the years - a reed came loose (like the Ceili, the reeds are waxed in, like an accordion).  It was repaired by Bob Snope, who oversaw the construction of all their hybrids at the late, lamented Button Box, and he checked it over to make sure everything was OK.

In preparation for selling it, I was planning on doing a short video to demonstrate the sound and functioning; that should be forthcominng in the next few days.

Congratulations - don't keep us in suspense, what did ye get?

I bought an ICC Eiru silver.  It should definitely be a good instrument for a long time of learning!
