tzirtzi Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Hi Concertina.net I was browsing ebay and came across this box: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/257328017330?itmmeta=01KFZS8GX7C7BNWQ8FKP7WKSF4 It's an extended treble Lachenal EC with a serial number of 80738. I thought the Lachenal EC serial numbers only went up to 60k or so, and the dating formula of (x/759)+1850 would date this to after Lachenal closed. I wonder what more knowledgeable people than me made of this? Thanks!
wes williams Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Its a mistake, and not unknown to happen before. We have another English - 87733 - on the database. In contrast we have around 60 with 60xxx numbers up to 60674.
tzirtzi Posted January 31 Author Posted January 31 Ah, well that would make sense! I guess the initial 8 could well be a mistake for another digit
d.elliott Posted January 31 Posted January 31 The RH Side Lachenal Label does not look original either.
