I made this one from 1/4 inch thick Baltic birch plywood. I lined it with closed cell foam. I measured for a tight fit between the hand straps to keep the bellows fully closed. Two screw eyes and a piece of trap net seaming twine made the stop that prevents the lid from flipping all the way back and eventually tearing out the brass hinges. I stripped the handle off an old countertop oven. I attached the shoulder strap with two D rings. I woodburned the design and painted it afterward.

Hi Lappy that is very attractive. I seem to be gathering concertinas that don't have boxes.

How is it jointed, how is the base attached, what is the cushioning layer made of, and how did you make/paint the logo?

That is if you don't mind sharing!

Cheers

Each of the four sides is reinforced with a 5/16 x 5/16 inch piece of wood. These reinforcements are first glued and clamped on the side pieces. Then the front and back sides are glued and clamped on to the side pieces. The top and bottom pieces are the last to be glued. Cut them a bit oversized. Then they can be trimmed with a flush cut saw. Cut the lid off next. This way, the lid will always fit even if the sides are a tiny bit out of square. I woodburned the design. The background is stippled with a round point tip. I used green and orange oil paints. I finished it with three coats of farmer’s varnish (1:1:1 ratio of boiled linseed oil, mineral spirits and oil based varathane). Attach the latches, handle, hinges and two small screw eyes ( one on the right front reinforcing strip in the box and one in the reinforcing strip of the lid). Attach the screw eyes to each other with a suitable length of string. I stripped the handle from an old countertop oven. Cut the closed cell foam to fit and attach it with carpet tape. This foam is sold as yoga or exercise mats (5/16 inch thick). I added 2 D rings for the shoulder strap. I used Titebond 3 glue. Any woodworking glue would work.

I purchased the metal corners on Amazon.

It’s too bad you weren’t my neighbour. I would enjoy making cases for all your concertinas!
