4 of the 15 tracks on Jackie Daly"s "Music From Sliabh Luachra" album are unaccompanied concertina.  That is indeed just a bit, but the impression they made on my ears was disproportionately outsized, even years before I started playing the instrument.  They show how powerful the concertina can be, even with sparse to zero ornamentation (if you happen to be Jackie Daly).

I was at Ennistymon library just now  going through the cds (always interesting to see who's been in, some people have a habit of putting their own recordings  up front), there were a few Niamh ní Charra ones there that are not, so far,  listed (I hope I remembered the names correctly   and that spellcheck doesn't  interfere any further during posting. ) :

Nî Charra  Niamh.

-Sugach Samh/ Happy out (2010)

-Cuz : tribute  to Terry 'Cuz' Teahan (2013)

-Donnelly's arm (2020)

Trying to chase up a copy of this one, up came this, suggesting a Beara "tina 2 (2015), including some of Ella Mae' s playing.

Another brainwave brought this to mind, a recording of Carl Hession's compositions, both as CD or book + CD combo.

Cunningham, Francis, Eimear Coughlan, Carl Hession, Úrnua [S.A.]

There is no year on the cd or cover as far as I can see but 2018/19 I would guess.

I found an entry for Christopher Droney . 1962 release is confirmed there. There are images but doesn't allow hotlinking them.

I have never come across the lp. So that will have to go on the mental 'look for' list. Not holding out much hope for this one, though.  I always look at the second hand shops etc. and get lucky sometimes with cheap lps, CDs  and 78s. Very saytisfying stumbling into  the unexpected  ones. Or the ones you've been hoping to find for years.

Peter, I have that Chris Droney Gael GL 2-102 LP. Will post better images of front and back. I don't have the capacity to digitize it at present even if that were legal.

As another little side note, this is Cruinniú weekend and I was just listening to Bernie Geraghty playing a few Chris Droney tunes. She said when she was learning she knew a man who had 'all the Chris Droney lps'. She borrowed them to learn from  'and they never went back'. Anyhow, she played two polkas she didn't name but the second one was the Lakes of Sligo. She made a fine job of them too.  I figured she must have scored the 'Irish Dance Music' lp at the time.

It was a nice,   if second hand, insight into some tunes played on the recording.

Big thanks to everyone who continues to add entries for me here. I've have a few health issues that mean I'm either online a lot, or not at all for a while so please don't think I am not continuing to work on this list. I'll be pack when I can. Your patience appreciated. :)
