Hmmm, interesting. Hopefully it wasn't a genuine antique, or was one in terrible condition, to be lugged around like that :) I've brightened up the picture and I can only see 4, maybe 5 (2 in line) keys.

I was watching the Clint Eastwood film The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976)

at 1:22:40 I saw this strange concertina with... two thumb straps!

And is that the tip of a pool cue poking out behind said 'tina?

From memory, there's another scene much later in the film, where Josey Wales and the rag-tag entourage he's picked up on his travels celebrate their arrival at the 'ranch at the end of the rainbow' with an impromptu 'hoe-down' during which the concertina is shown being played. It's been featured here before, but unfortunately I can't remember whether it was English or Anglo. Unfortunately, I also can't trace that particular post...🙁

Some-one who's a bit more determined than me may be able to track it down...🙂

I searched on the word “Josey” and, in addition to this thread, I found these two:

Read the last paragraph of the late @Leo’s post. Unfortunately, the video at the youtube link he provided is no longer available.

Guilty etc...

Thanks! I had spotted the 2011 post but missed the 2010 and 2018 posts (and I had also forgottten the 2018 post was from myself!). I couldn't look at the film again because I took all my DVDs to the charity shop about 3 months ago...

Have a happy Xmas!
