gcoover Posted December 20, 2025 Posted December 20, 2025 For those of you interested in learning this fun tune, the dots and the Anglo tabs for "In the Toyshop" can be found on p.54 of The Anglo Concertina Music of Alan Day, published last year by Rollston Press. There are lots of other great tunes in the book too, with QR codes links to Alan playing them. Gary 2
Jim Besser Posted December 22, 2025 Posted December 22, 2025 Nice, Al. I always enjoy playing that tune. I learned it from the brilliant playing of melodeonist Martin Ellison. Apparently he got it from a fairground band organ or similar mechanical music machine. 1
Clive Thorne Posted December 22, 2025 Posted December 22, 2025 Excellent, although slightly different to the version I know (particularly in the B part).

Thanks for your comments Clive There are actually three parts to this tune that I have learnt over the years. This version was the one we proffered. Al

I originally learnt it from Martin but the third part (what we play as the B )came from a member of Rosbif that we are playing here. Not sure where he heard it. Al
