Michael Eskin Posted December 2 Posted December 2 (edited) While originally developed primarily for his ocarina customers, Robert Hickman at Pure Ocarinas has added some traditional Irish instrument presets that simplify the configuration of the pitch recognition range. For concertina, you'll want to use the Fiddle preset. Michael Eskin Posted Monday at 03:24 AM Author Posted Monday at 03:24 AM From Robert Hickman on updates to the "Play by Ear" tool: I’ve added an option to disable the built in spaced repetition practice scheduling system, and it is now disabled by default, as it may be confusing to new users. Spaced repetition is a learning approach that attempts to estimate when you’ll forget something based on when you last practised it. If something is very new to you, then it will be forgotten faster than something you’ve known for longer. Thus, the longer a tune has been in the system, and the more times you’ve practised it, the time intervals between practice sessions get progressively larger. The system is based on the anki algorithm, and I’ve personally found it a good predictor of when I’ll forget a tune. I’ve been using it to schedule my tune practice for several years. Separate to the SRS feature, it is now possible to manually set the duration of the count in.
