David Barnert Posted December 1 Posted December 1 (edited) Lynn Hughes (known to anyone who has been to the NorthEast Squeeze-In, NESI) received this from someone she doesn’t know: Quote I am looking for any party with serious interest in purchasing a used Chemnitzer concertina. Unfortunately, due to physical handicaps, I am unable to invest time and effort into learning to play the instrument, which is much too heavy and bulky to rest on my lap as I am confined to a wheelchair. The local accordion store here in Philadelphia (Liberty Bellows) informs me that there is virtually no local market for a Chemnitzer concertina. I would like to recover at least some of the cost of the instrument, but I am more interested in getting it into the hands of someone, perhaps of a younger generation, who would appreciate it and learn the instrument, in order to continue the heritage of concertina music. Your help or advice would be most appreciated. Just to let you know, this accordion is a “Karrousel Karpek” concertina in excellent condition, complete with carrying case. Lynn adds: Quote His name is Fr. Scott Allen, and his email is frswallen [at] yahoo.com . If you have any suggestions for where or how he might find a buyer for this instrument, please contact him directly. There’s no need for me to be an intermediary. Thanks! Roger Hare Posted December 1 Posted December 1 (edited) I sent him a message advising him to try selling it on the Czech Area Concertina Club or Concertina Music sites - both are Chemnitzer-oriented... There's some information about the Karrousel Karpek here. Looks more like an accordion than a Chemnitzer in the picture, though? Edited December 1 by Roger Hare
