David, The question of this instrument has already arisen (here) in the Do I Have A Jeffries?, Help wanted with identiyfing a C/G anglo thread, which you may find of assistance. I'm afraid it can be hard to be sure even with the instrument in your hand, never mind from a photograph, but similar models were made by Crabb, Jeffries, Shakespeare, Jones and others.
