Marcus Posted September 25 Posted September 25 Good morning, I really enjoyed this set of tunes on the Jack Talty/Cormac Begley album and decided to learn them. Here’s a quick recording. There’s a couple of fluffed notes but overall I’m happy with it. My pace will never be what theirs was but I prefer a more relaxed feel - as per Mary Macnamara. I hope you enjoy them! Peter Laban Posted September 28 Posted September 28 (edited) They are nice tunes. They are also very popular as a set, I heard a lot of people play them over the past few months. Transcribing tunes from a Joe Bane tape I was surprised quite a few of his tunes were from Scotland. This particular one started out as the march Dornoch links. Anyhow, I talked to some of the East Clare crowd and was td Bane spent so.e time in Scotland, which goes some way explaining it. I have some recordings of various people playing these, if anyone is interested. I was listening to one version by Brid O'Gorman playing it on the C flute with Sinead Mulqueen on the concertina that I recorded a few months ago,, very tasty. Sinead is a handy concertina player, one of many never mentioned here. Edited September 28 by Peter Laban 2
