david robertson Posted August 31, 2025 Posted August 31, 2025 This is related to a thread I started here: https://www.concertina.net/forums/index.php?/topic/29434-anyone-lost-a-dipper/ The mysterious Mr (or Mrs?) Barnford bought a Dipper 34-button Anglo in March '23, which has recently been offered both to me and to Chris Algar. I'm trying to check that the instrument has not been stolen, so if anyone knows of a player called Barnford, I'd be very grateful for contact details. I'm guessing that he or she must have been a reasonably skilled player (it's hardly a beginner's inztrument), so I'm hoping that someone on this forum will recognise the name.
AndyNT Posted August 31, 2025 Posted August 31, 2025 Might be worth also posting on one or two of the concertina Facebook groups.

RAc Posted August 31, 2025 Posted August 31, 2025 Hi David, are you sure it is Barnford, not Bamford?
david robertson Posted September 1, 2025 Author Posted September 1, 2025 That's what I was told by Simon Haines, who sold it.

The reason why I asked was that there is an auctioneer Bamford in Devon who is mentioned in concertina resources as having auctioned concertinas. I am sure that you have already asked Simon if he could establish a contact between you and the buyer or relay other non protected hints about the whereabouts such as rough geographical location of the buyer. Your intentions are very honorable and I am sure in the best interest of everybody involved. Best of luck in your query!
