4to5to6 Posted July 24 Posted July 24 I am scanning in a complete collection of Free Reed magazines to be archived at high resolution and need another copy of edition 12 as a few pages are blurred. Hi quality scans of the bad pages is okay but preferably the magazine sent to me. Thanks

4to5to6 Posted July 24 Author Posted July 24 Thanks Wes. I’m aware of these but need much higher resolution to match the scans that we are doing. No. 12, May 1973, pages 9, 12, 21, 24
Nigel Champion Posted August 16 Posted August 16 If you scan the page with black paper behind it, the writing on the page's reverse side is much less intrusive. I find your scan above very difficult to read because of the bleedthrough. Good luck.
wes williams Posted August 16 Posted August 16 Nigel, If you are talking about my scans at the concertina museum site, they were the first I ever did, so over 30 years ago. I'm well aware of the black paper behind trick, having written the same as you many times here. The photo that 4to5to6 posted here isn't a scan, and he is well aware of all the scanning techniques ( .. or at least his partner is !!).
Ty Bowen Posted October 10 Posted October 10 Wow the first article in issue 1 about the history of the concertina is very harsh on my beloved Anglo. (Don't mind the English in my hands in my profile photo, I no longer own it.) Fred Osborne: "The English concertina is superior in every way."
4to5to6 Posted October 11 Author Posted October 11 (edited) Neil Wayne was an Anglo player as far as I know but the museum did seem to specialize in the English. Probably because most of the unique early vintage instruments were the English. All the Free Reed magazines have been scanned. There are just a few more misc articles etc. left that were to be in the next issue that was never published. We just moved so very busy but it will happen very soon. Thanks for the help in locating the missing editions. Edited October 11 by 4to5to6 1
