Andy Balinsky Posted July 11, 2025 Posted July 11, 2025 (edited) As part of a 750-instrument auction sale in Belfast, about 12 concertinas (including some oddballs are for sale. The loooong Lachenal is especially bizarre. Here is a news article about the origin. P.S. I posted in this forum, not the sale forum, because I'm not selling them, and they are mostly oddities to look at or discuss. Edited July 11, 2025 by Andy Balinsky added clarification
Steve Schulteis Posted July 11, 2025 Posted July 11, 2025 I hope somebody on the forum will buy the long-chenal and let us all have a look inside. 1
wes williams Posted July 11, 2025 Posted July 11, 2025 Time for Mr. Stephen Chambers to get a transit van up there from County Clare? 🚚 There are lots of interesting items in the auction catalogue, even if we exclude all the piano accordions.
Andy Balinsky Posted July 12, 2025 Author Posted July 12, 2025 I can't even imagine how playable this is. It must be quite long while compressed, and there are 9 folds on those bellows. You'd almost need 2 people to play it when extended.
