Eric Lerner Posted June 24 Posted June 24 Here's a hornpipe in B minor by Scottish fiddler Brian McNeill, from his “Back o’ the North Wind” CD on the theme of Scots’ migration to America. The golden spike marked the completion of the transcontinental Railway in Utah in 1869, with many Scots among the railway workers. Played on my 40-button Crabb G/D Anglo concertina -- and I even use some of those extra buttons on this tune. The notes & ABC are online at The Session here -- https://thesession.org/tunes/5429 1
wunks Posted June 24 Posted June 24 (edited) Nice tune! Nearing retirement from the old D&H Railroad, I piloted the rail grinder from Sunbury PA to Rouses Point on the Canadian border and took the opportunity to drive the spikes in the last tie at either end of the line. A good tune for me to learn....😃 Edited June 24 by wunks correction 1
